About The Club

Polski Klub Alpejski Polish Alpine Club - is an all-Polish sport association, formally existing since 2000. Our statutory objectives are: popularization of mountaineering, organization of high-mountain expeditions and mountain culture promotion.

We organized over 100 expeditions to 5 continents; at that time we were active in the Himalaya Mountains, the Tien Shan, the Pamir Mountains, the High Atlas, the Andes, the Caucasus Mountains, the Alborz Mountain Range and the Alps. 
The Club has a certificate of 1 Pułk Komandosów Lubliniec; what is more, the club cooperates with community centres, educational institutes and public schools.


The greatest Club's sport achievements are the ascents of:

  • Mount Everest (8850 m n.p.m.) - 2008, one person on the summit,
  • Cho Oyu (8201 m n.p.m.) - 2004, five participants on the summit, Polish record in snowboarding,
  • Shisa Pangma Central (8012 m n.p.m.) - 2005, two members on the summit,
  • West Pobeda Peak (6918 m n.p.m.) - 2005, with a traverse to the Obelisk. The attack interrupted by a rescue operation for the Russian,
  • Chan Tengri (7010 m n.p.m.) - 2003, 2004, twelve participants on the summit,
  • Lenin Peak (7134 m n.p.m.) - 2007, tthree members on the summit,
  • Aconcagua (6962 n.p.m.) - 2001-2010, 63 ascents,
  • and the ascents of many other peaks throughout the world.
Polski Klub AlpejskiThe association's members are the gueats of the greatest thematic events in our country e.g. Explorers Festival in Łódź, Travellers Meetings in Gdynia, Mountain People Meetings, Cracow Mountain Festival or at The Cervino CineMountain Film Festival, where they present materials about our sport activity.

The Club's members film "Droga na ośmiotysięcznik" ( The Route to The Eight-thousander) has been awarded on the Mountain Film Festival in Bielsko-Biała and has been catalogued in collections of the Museum of Alpinism in Turin.




The Club organizes also its own Festival covering the mountain subjects - "Dni Lajtowe z PKA". The 9th edition took place in 2008, in Bukowina Tatrzańska and was attended by the world's stars of himalaism (Simone Moro, Jozef Rakoncaj, Aleksiej Bolotov, Jura Jermaczek, Silvio Mondinell, Peter Hamor, Kinga Baranowska, Anna Czerwińska, Piotr Morawski). 

Our everyday activity is cooperation with the foundation of Polish Scouting and Guiding Association  (ZHP) conducting trainings for the scouts. The Club's members are also trained in alpinism skills.

Since 1st January 2009, Bogusław Magrel has been chairman of The Club and Jacek Kotra has been vice chairman. Maciej Westerowski is the treasurer; The Club's secretary is Paweł Kajzerek.
Auditing commission members: chairman - Dariusz Stolarczyk, vice chairman - Piotr Grządziel, secretary - Grzegorz Piwko. 
The Club associates 44 members and over 2000 sympathizers in the country and abroad.
